Tom Vladeck, WG16, wrote a blog recounting his Marketing Analytics Internship at Venmo and the projects he completed during his time there.

After discussing potential projects with the Venmo team, he decided that studying customer churn and retention would be invaluable since apps like Venmo have a much tougher time calculating churn than subscription services like Dropbox or cable TV. However, once he studied the data he decided to focus on a mini – project that called for his factor analysis skills to interpret the information from marketing surveys and redesign them to ask fewer questions.
